Traffic sign recognition

Traffic sign recognition includes a display on the color screen in the instrument cluster of detected traffic signs. In the event of traffic sign recognition failure (e.g. in heavy rain or darkness), the speed limit stored in the navigation module will be displayed.

ParkAssist (Front and Rear) incl. Reversing Camera

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Radar-based technology that automatically maintains a specified distance from the vehicle in front by gently braking the vehicle as required, even down to a halt.

Note: The functions are subject to system limitations.

Lane Keep Assist (LKA) incl. Emergency Stop function

Camera-based system for automatic detection of lane markings on the road. Actively countersteers if your vehicle inadvertently attempts to leave the current lane. System active from a speed of approximately 41 mph.

Emergency Stop function: Brings the vehicle to a halt (subject to system limitations) if the driver fails to respond (e.g. due to health reasons). If the vehicle detects an absence of driver activity, it uses visual and audible warnings, a brief tightening of the seatbelt and if necessary a jolt of the brakes to attempt to prompt the driver to resume control of the vehicle. Should this be unsuccessful, after a moderate delay the vehicle will come to a halt in the lane, activate the hazard warning lights and trigger a call to the emergency services.

Lane Change Assist (LCA)

Alerts the driver to vehicles rapidly approaching from behind or vehicles travelling at the same speed in potential blind spots. The warning is emitted by lights in the exterior mirrors. The function is activated by the driver using Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and is available from approximately 10 mph. Below this speed, Turn Assist (rear) also comes to the driver's aid by monitoring the area to the rear of the vehicle in turning situations.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert: Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses the rear radar and, where system limitations allow, warns the driver when reversing slowly of oncoming traffic when the parking aid is activated. The system warns, for example, of approaching vehicles when leaving a perpendicular parking space. The information is provided in stages – visually on the PCM screen, audibly and, if necessary, with a jolt of the brakes.

Exit warning: Exit warning warns of other vehicles approaching from behind when the door is opened. The system uses the LED lighting in the interior door handle as a warning.

Note: The functions are subject to system limitations. The driver must monitor at all times.

Warn and Brake Assist

The Warn and Brake Assist system monitors the environment in front of the vehicle. Obstacles in front of the vehicle, such as vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists, can be detected within the limits of the system. In this case, the system alerts the driver by means of an audible and visual warning, as well as by a braking jolt where appropriate. If required, the system can also support driver braking or initiate automatic deceleration to reduce speed or possibly avoid the obstacle.

In addition, the following function is also part of the Warning and Brake Assist system: The distance warning can detect if there is a safety hazard due to driving too close to the vehicle in front and warn the driver via the display in the instrument cluster.

Intersection Assist

Intersection Assist monitors the front of the vehicle to see whether vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists are crossing the road and issues a warning or automatically brakes within the system limits when the aforementioned objects are detected.

Swerve and Turn Assist

Swerve Assist supports the driver's steering intervention in a critical situation, when the driver wants to avoid an obstacle by performing a steering maneuver.

When turning, the Turn Assist monitors the traffic in the opposite lane as well as pedestrians and cyclists, and can avoid a critical situation by warning and braking within the limits of the system.
