Traffic sign recognition of speed limits, ‘no overtaking’ zones (start and end) and various other signs (skid risk, temporary restrictions) in interaction with the vehicle sensor system. Includes a display on the colour screen in the instrument cluster. In the event of sign recognition failure (e.g. in heavy rain or darkness), the speed limit stored in the navigation module will be displayed
Alerts the driver to vehicles rapidly approaching from behind or vehicles travelling at the same speed in potential blind spots.
The warning is emitted by lights in the exterior mirrors.
The function is activated by the driver using Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and is available from approximately 10 km/h – 250 km/h.
Below a speed of approximately 30 km/h, Turn Assist (rear) also comes to the driver's aid by monitoring the area to the rear of the vehicle in turning situations
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
The Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses the rear radar and, where system limitations allow, warns the driver when reversing slowly of oncoming traffic when the parking aid is activated. The system warns, for example, of critically approaching vehicles when leaving a perpendicular parking space. The information is provided in stages – visually on the PCM screen, audibly and, if necessary, with a jolt of the brakes.
Exit warning
The exit warning warns of other vehicles approaching from behind when the door is opened. The system uses the LED lighting in the interior door handle as a warning.
Note: The functions are subject to system limitations. The driver must monitor at all times and intervene in cases of doubt
Once activated, the function maintains the speed set by the driver using the control lever on the steering wheel.
Camera-based system for automatic detection of divider line markings on the road. Actively countersteers if your vehicle inadvertently threatens to leave the current lane. System is available from approximately 65 km/h - 250 km/h.
Emergency Stop function: Brings the vehicle to a halt (subject to system limitations) if the driver fails to respond (e.g. due to health reasons). If the vehicle detects an absence of driver activity, it uses visual and audible warnings, a brief tightening of the seatbelt and if necessary a jolt of the brakes to attempt to prompt the driver to resume control of the vehicle. Should this be unsuccessful, after a moderate delay the vehicle will come to a halt in the lane, activate the hazard warning lights and trigger a call to the emergency services.
The Warning and Brake Assist system monitors the environment in front of the vehicle. An impending head-on collision with vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists can be detected within the limits of the system when driving at urban and extra-urban speeds. In this case, the system alerts the driver by means of an audible and visual warning, as well as by a braking jolt where appropriate.
If required, the system can also support driver braking or initiate automatic deceleration to reduce the collision speed or possibly avoid the collision.
In addition, the following functions are also part of the Warning and Brake Assist system:
The distance warning can detect if there is a safety hazard due to driving too close to the vehicle in front and warn the driver via the display in the instrument cluster.
The Intersection Assist monitors the front of the vehicle to see whether vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists are crossing the road and can reduce the consequences of a collision by issuing a warning or automatically braking within the system limits.
Swerve Assist supports the driver's steering intervention in a collision-critical situation, when the driver wants to avoid an obstacle by performing a steering manoeuvre.
When turning, the Turn Assist monitors the traffic in the opposite lane as well as pedestrians and cyclists, and can avoid a collision by warning and braking within the limits of the system.
By tracking of driving behaviour and user interaction of the driver, there will be optical and acoustic warnings if distraction or indications of tiredness are detected.
