Adaptive Cruise Control

- Radar- and video-based technology that monitors and automatically regulates the distance from the vehicle in front as required – even down to a halt by means of the stop-and-go function (selectable cruising speed range: 20 – 210km/h)
- Turn Assist monitors the traffic in the oncoming lane when turning left and can prevent a collision by warning and braking within the system limits.
- The Auto Start Stop brings the vehicle to a halt if the driver fails to respond (e.g. due to health reasons), where system limitations allow. If the vehicle detects that the driver has stopped responding, it uses visual and audible warnings, a brief tightening of the seatbelt and if necessary a jolt of the brakes to attempt to prompt the driver to resume control of the vehicle. Should this be unsuccessful, after a moderate delay the vehicle will come to a halt in the lane, activate the hazard warning lights and trigger a call to the emergency services (depending on country-specific infrastructure).
- The Evasion Assist supports the driver in collision critical situations, if the driver wants to evade an obstacle with a steering maneuver.
- The distance warning is able to detect a safety hazard due to following too close and warns the driver in a vehicle speed range from approx. 65 – 250 km/h (40 – 156 mph) by displaying the symbol on the instrument cluster.

Additional functions if risk of collision detected:
- reversible occupant protection measures (even if the driver's emergency braking is detected)
